The use of point of care sideline ultrasound in Sports Medicine.
Adam is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports and musculoskeletal related injuries. His under-graduate education was completed at Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Specialization in Athletic Training. He graduated from medical school at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, did his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Wayne State University, and did his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Over the last 14 years as an athletic trainer and doctor he has worked with the Detroit Lions (National Football League), Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Rochester Community Technical College, MHSAA wrestling, AAU wrestling, and athletes of all ages. He has been very active academically, teaching ultrasound to fellow physicians, and in research with multiple publications on sports related injuries, regenerative medicine, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has also been active in the community as head team physician for the Seattle Storm and providing care for multiple local causes.�Dr. Pourcho has specialized training in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses to provide precise, less invasive treatments. He has specialized training from Mayo Clinic in the treatment of tendinopathties such as lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial epicondylitis (golfer�s elbow), Achilles tendinitis, patellar tendinitis, and plantar fasciitis. He is a core faculty for the ACGME accredit-ed Sports Fellowship at Swedish rehabilitation and performance medicine and has been professor of the year in 2015 and 2016.�His interests include: Diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Regenerative medicine (Platelet-rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate), minimally invasive ultrasound-guided procedures and tenotomies, Osteopathic manual manipulations, sports performance and rehabilitation, and preventative medicine. He also enjoys hiking, circuit training, spending time with his family, and sports of all kinds.
